Golf

is surely one of the main reasons for making holiday at the Fleesensee. It was also one of the reasons why we chose to have our holiday domicile here. As we are playing golf, we would like to give you some Information and advice, how you can arrange your own golf holiday.

Why play golf at the Fleesensee at all? Here some quotations from the articel about Golf-Resorts tested in the Golfmagazin from November 2002.

You would like to start playing golf, but do'nt know if it is the right sport for you

Make a short course licence seminar. It starts on Mondays and ends on the following Friday with the test for course permission. (If you should not make it, you can try again in Saturday). You learn the basics of the golf sport (also the theroretic parts) in a group. I made a seminar in the summer of 2002 with a flight with such seminar participant, who played together on the short course. The atmosphere was very good and the participant told me that the were very satisfied.

The advantage of getting to know golf this way, is that you are allowed to play golf on the "real" golf course already on the second day. (We knew only the driving range for the first weeks of our golf "carreer" and did'nt know what golf really is.)

In our opinion it the perfect start into the golf sport .

The investment in the above mentioned seminar is 666.- EUR (11/02) incl. 5 days seminar, 20 training hours, 4 green fees for the short course (which you are allowed to play without course license), 1 book of rules, 6 logo balls, 20 tokens for golf balls on the driving range, free use of the golf arena including pitching und putting greens, per day a rented club set. You have had the first training hours in your home club, but have no course licence

You are really in an unlucky situation ;-). You are almost infected, but are not allowed to play on a golf course. In the golf resort Fleesensee you have the possibility to play 18 holes without the course license. The green fee for the short and the fun course is 20.00 EUR in the summer and 12,50 EUR in the winter season and is valid for one whole day. (So you should not get bored.)

To increase your golf skills, you can book some training hours in the Golf Academy . For an inquiry of golf hours we made a fax formular , with which you can book your training hours.

The training possibilities are phantastic! If you work with a trainer, you will be recorded on digital video film from the side and from the front . You can see how you made your punch afterwards in the screen in the ground, meanwhile the trainer gives you advice how to make things better. Fast error removal and quick progress is possible this way. Here some more advice about training.

You are already infected

You can play on threei (soon on four) 18-hole courses. Because of the tight co-operation with the Golf & Country Club Fleesensee you recieve 10% discount on the green fees for the three courses. If you want to play golf only, we recommend the golf package including 5 green fees, (2 x Tchibo-, 2 x West- and 1 x Schloss course) for 180.- EUR.

You should book your starting time in advance! In this case we have prepared a fax formular for you, which you can use for your inquiry. If you book your starting times in good time, you have bigger chances to get your wanted times.

The starts are 10 minutes after each other. We find this very comfortable, so you don't have a big pressure from the other flights starting afterwards. (Of course assuming that everyone is keeping the rules of the game). Here a book recommendation: Golf. Schnell besser spielen..)

Here some more advice

Try to play at "unusual" starting times. The advantage for you is, that you have the course for you only and you can play in peace! We played in the summer of 2002 at 6 o'clock in the morning and also at 17.30 in the evening. We were really alone!! To judge when you can play at the earliest or at the latest, you can see when Sunrise and sunset is in your holiday.

Payment of green fee

When you have picked up the key to your appartment in the reception of the golf club, you pay the green fee for your first play at the same time ! As you need to have the receipt with you, when you are playing, you take at the same time (regular controls are made).

We often go the the bar for a small beer in the club house after playing golf and then we pay our green fee for the next day. This way we can go directly to the golf course from our appartment the next day.

If you should be surprised by rain and storm and have to stop playing, you can go to the club house and ask if you can play the rest of the holes the next day.(without green fee) .

Training hours

If you would like to book training hours for 2 persons, we recommend you to book them after each other.

Pricing system in the golf academy has fixed that for example one Junior-Pro has one hour with one person for 45 EUR. If a second person joins the training the second person pays (only) 30 EUR.

As the attention of the trainer is divided in two you pay in fact 37.50 EUR for half an hour training, this is a price per hour of 75.- EUR . Especially in the video analyses it is a fact that the trainer can only look on one screen at a timer and concentrate on one player at a time.

We think that this pricing system is questionable , but have decided to make single hours.

Payment of training hours

If you have booked tranining hours you pay these at the beginning of your holiday or the first day of the training. Let the receptionist give you a reciept at once - you need it for your trainer. Also inform the reception that you would like to meet your trainer at "House 2". Then you don't have to run so much!

Which trainer?

This is a difficult question. Of course we have tried some - but not all. We have found "our" and we can tell a little about him:

We are trained by Jonathan Lush. Jonathan is Junior Pro and he maybe has the typical dry humor of an English man. He is a calm typ, who analyses our golf punch very systematic. This way he succeeded in correcting our main errors, which was important for us. He concentrated on single points, which we were able to manage. He has a good mix of working and having fun. We will continue haveing hours with him.

Token for the ball machine.

You can buy tokens for the ball machine. If you stay for a longer timer, you may need more balls. You can ask for a magnet card for 10 tokens, then you don' t have to pay with coins.
